Grow Local South Texas offers education in all-natural food production, gardening, sustainability, food preparation,
and healthy eating for youth and community members. Check out the listings below for our current educational programs.

Youth: After-school & In-school Garden Education
After-school garden education teaches hands-on all-natural food production, sustainability and healthy food preparation education to youth in our community. Classes take place at least twice per week at each location and currently serve children aged 5-17 after-school & students aged 17-21 (at the Mary Grett Transition Center) during school hours. Engaging, mostly out-door activities and lessons not only introduce children to new foods, healthy eating and agricultural concepts, they also incorporate math, science, teamwork and other valuable skills.
Current After-school Locations:
Antonio E Garcia Arts & Education Center: 2 days per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays), 2 classes per day, free after-school education. For enrollment inquire here.
West Side Helping Hand: 1 day per week, 2 classes per day (Mondays). For enrollment, inquire with WSHH.
Boys & Girls Club of the Coastal Bend: 1 day per week, 2 classes per day (Wednesdays). For enrollment inquire with BGCCB.
Current In-School Locations:
Mary Grett Transition Center: 2 days per week, 1 class per day during the school day (Mondays and Thursdays). Gardening skills classes.
